Skills

Download skills that teach Claude and other assistants PlayStep's workflows, from building an onboarding guide to a weekly report, and add them in a minute.

A skill is a folder of instructions an assistant loads when a task calls for it. PlayStep's skills teach your assistant how to do the common jobs well: which tools to use in which order, what a good guide looks like, and what to check before asking to publish. Ask in your own words, and the assistant picks the matching skill by itself.

Skills work through the PlayStep connector, so connect PlayStep first. They are instructions only and give an assistant no access of their own.

Download

Skill (zip)What it does
playstepThe basics every task needs: start from the workspace, read before editing, how approvals work, what a good guide looks like. Add it with any of the others.
playstep-onboarding-guideBuilds a first-run guide for one goal, from a public page of your app or a template, and gives you a preview link.
playstep-improve-guideFinds where people drop off in a guide, works out why from the numbers, and drafts a fix.
playstep-weekly-reportA report of under 200 words on how guides did this week and what needs attention. Reads only.
playstep-fix-anchorsFinds steps pointing at elements your app no longer shows, drafts fixes, and lists what developers need to put back.
playstep-releaseChecks a guide, shares a preview, asks to publish and follows the approval through. Also rolls back and pauses.
playstep-translate-guideAdds a language to a guide, keeping product names and button labels as your app shows them.

For Claude Code and other assistants, playstep-skills.zip has all 7 skill folders in one download.

Add skills to Claude

Turn on code execution

Skills need Code execution and file creation, in Settings › Capabilities. On Team and Enterprise plans, an owner of your Claude organization turns it on for everyone.

Upload each skill

Open Customize › Skills, add a skill and choose Upload a skill. Pick one skill's zip as you downloaded it, without unzipping it. Claude takes one skill per upload, so upload playstep and each of the others you want.

Ask for a task

In a chat with PlayStep turned on, ask in your own words:

Build an onboarding guide that gets new users to send their first invoice.

Claude loads the onboarding skill and follows it. Nothing reaches your end users until a person approves a publish.

Owners of a Team or Enterprise organization can also add skills for everyone in it.

Add skills to Claude Code

Unzip the skills into your personal skills folder to use them in every project:

Terminal
unzip playstep-skills.zip -d ~/.claude/skills

On Windows, in PowerShell:

Expand-Archive playstep-skills.zip -DestinationPath $HOME\.claude\skills

To share them with your team instead, unzip them into .claude/skills in your project and commit them. Claude Code picks a skill when your request matches it.

Other assistants

The skills use the open Agent Skills format, so other assistants that read it can use them too. Connect PlayStep first (Other MCP clients), then unzip playstep-skills.zip into the assistant's skills folder:

AssistantFor every projectFor one project
Codex~/.agents/skills.agents/skills
VS Code (GitHub Copilot)~/.copilot/skills.github/skills
Gemini CLI~/.gemini/skills.gemini/skills

Cursor reads skills as well, but cannot sign in to PlayStep yet.

What skills do not change

  • Access. What an assistant can do still comes from your workspace's rules, the connection's level and your role. Changes that reach end users, settings and deletions still wait for approval. See Permissions and approvals.
  • What is possible. Everything a skill does, the assistant can also do when you ask step by step. Skills make it consistent: the same checks before every publish, the same report every week.

Skills and the built-in prompts cover the same jobs. A prompt is a task you start by name; a skill is picked up from what you ask, and can say more.

Make them yours

Skills are plain text. Open a skill's SKILL.md and add what your team always wants: your app's name for things, your tone of voice, a check of your own before release. Keep the folder name and the name line the same, and the description under 200 characters, then zip the folder again to upload it to Claude.

Download the skills again now and then: we update them as PlayStep's tools change. In Claude, replace a skill by deleting the old one and uploading the new zip.

Search the docs and guides.
